This was painted en plein air in Queen Elizabeth Park in Vancouver in one two-hour session. The park was crowded then, but I chose to focus on one couple and their dog as I loved the colours and the dynamic between them. I also liked the contrast between the highly manicured and wild aspects of the park and strove to get a sense of depth and distance from an unconventional perspective - seated and under a tree.
