Awaiting Finery
Thwarted by a locked gate, I was unable to paint my first choice of subject: the horse barn across the road. Never one to give up easily, wandered around a bit and wound up behind this carriage house structure. I was drawn to all the negative shapes created by the spokes of the wheels and the soft light filtering in on the floor. While I painted, I disturbed the resident squirrels and made way for a mother deer with her babies.
