This painting was done in studio from a photo I took this March as we were driving back to Door County from Arizona. We were going by Colorado Springs where the great plains meet the Rockies. There was a big storm brewing and the sun was setting and I was able to grab a great reference photo. I loved how the clouds up at the top were luminous and glowing and under the clouds it had begun to rain.
