Kentucky Morning

The inspiration was an attempt to point to the early Lexington Kentucky and what it may have looked like for a man who would have put down roots there in the late 18th or early 19th centuries. The man wears hunting clothes and gear typical of the era and sports a flintlock rifle in the signature style of the early Lexington makers. Quality of light always drives my work and this warm but early morning light had it’s own effects on color and atmospheric perspective.
