The failure of the Lawn Lake dam near Estes Park, CO left an impressive alluvial fan of debris and boulders strewn about like baubles tossed in anger by a stormy diva. The boulders studding the river are like big comfortable cushions beckoning visitors to take respite. I like rocks. Rocks rock, but especially when they are in conjunction with a clear crisp flowing mountain stream - it just feels so right.
