This is a studio painting of a prickly pear cactus and a couple of roadrunners. I painted the cactus in Palm Desert en plein air while a couple of curious roadrunners scurried around me. I used photo reference and the plein air sketch to create the studio painting. It's painted in oil on stretched linen.
