This is a studio painting done exclusively with a palette knife. I love the way the palette knife brings the craggy rocks in these coastal bluffs to a more realistic view. This view is from just north of the Rocky Creek Bridge on Highway One between Carmel and Big Sur. I have painting dozens of paintings in plein air and in my studio from studies and digital images near this location.
