Having grown up in Santa Rosa, CA, I spent much time walking alongside the trails next to Santa Rosa Creek, enjoying the deep woodland shadows, and feeling the sweetness of being alone among the trees. In this painting, I wanted to created the feeling of peace and tranquility that I experienced then.
