Afternoon Gathering

I love painting objects that are defined as "white"....because they can be all colors of the rainbow!!
This painting was a combination of working in the studio from my photo reference, for all of the figures, and then taking the 3x4 foot canvas to the bottom of my drive, and working on the ground, I painted the landscape entirely "en plein air"! Yep, was quite the challenge!
I found a local rancher who had a flock of geese, and the women were friends, who I dressed in white...and combined the two, to be both created in plein air AND the studio! Was a true challenge, but sure exciting!
