Shadow Side of Winter
This was captured during the early spring, at a lake in north Idaho. The entire painting was painted on the spot, known as "plein air painting". And personally, I do NOT like painting from photos, because as a painting progresses small nuances happen, that would NOT have occurred with a photo!
Also, I do my "murals" on canvases stretched on deep bars, so the sides become the "framework" that they set in, along with the 1.5" black space between each panel!!
